This 1821 British gold sovereign is an excellent example of a British Colonial Coin. Before Canada was striking it’s own coinage in the 1850’s, it was dependent upon coins from France, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal and Spanish America to conduct commerce. This particular piece features George III and is hard to find in nicer grades. It is graded AU58 PCGS with lots of nice luster. Trends at $4000 Cdn and is offered at $3000.
